Legionaries, Regnum Christi to reflect on future ties

CWN - July 13, 2012

The papal delegate supervising reform of the Legion of Christ has called for a “brief but intense period of joint reflection” involving both the Legionaries and their affiliated lay movement, Regnum Christi.

Cardinal Velasio De Paolis said, in a July 11 letter to Legionaries, that it would be impossible to think clearly about the Legion of Christ without taking Regnum Christi into consideration, and vice versa. He said that “a common platform” should be established to guide relations between the two groups.

The cardinal indicated that both the Legionaries and Regnum Christi should establish a clear understanding of their respective identities, as they prepare to draft new rules of the Legion of Christ.

One might refer to this in the arena of contemporary jargon as "rebooting." It's not a bad idea across the board. Sad. Intellects and wills must be directed towards Our Lord in cooperation with His grace and animated with His eternal love. When this does not happen and disorientation occurs, bad things happen. Sometimes these things are unspeakable. Anyone who has listened to sports radio in the past 24 hours knows about the unspeakable. Sadly, our pastors and shepherds are not immune.
