Milan’s Duomo seen in earthquake danger
Catholic World News - June 28, 2012
Milan’s beloved cathedral, the Duomo, might collapse if the region is hit by an earthquake, the building’s administrators have warned.
The spires of the Duomo shifted during the earthquake that struck Italy earlier this month, although the epicenter of that tremor was far from Milan. While the spire has subsequently shifted back, seismic activity closer to the city could topple the spire or even ruin the historic building, experts fear.
