Togo: bishops decry police raid on church
June 25, 2012
Togo’s bishops decried the decision by police to conduct a violent raid on a church in Lomé, the nation’s capital, after protesters took refuge there.
The “sacrilegious act,” which included the use of tear gas, “desecrated the house of the Lord,” the bishops said.
