Pope praises efforts to promote Christian principles in agriculture
CWN - June 22, 2012
Pope Benedict XVI praised the work of an Italian organization to promote family farms, during a private audience on June 22.
The Pope applauded the efforts of the group, Coldiretti, that to promote “the values which make working activity a valuable instrument in the creation of a more just and human form of coexistence.” He remarked: “Society, the economy, and work are not exclusively secular environments. Even less so are they alien to the Christian message.” Rather, he said, they are fields for evangelical work.
