Rioters sets fire to churches in Zanzibar
CWN - May 29, 2012
Rioters in Zanzibar City, the capital of the overwhelmingly Muslim Tanzanian region of Zanzibar, set fire to two Protestant churches on the night of May 26.
Police said that the incidents were the work of members of Uamsho, an Islamist separatist group. Uamsho countered that “Islam is a religion of peace, and never shall we send our people to destroy churches.”
