Network newscasts ignored Catholic lawsuits against HHS mandate
May 23, 2012
America’s 3 largest television network virtually ignored the lawsuits brought by 43 Catholic institutions against the contraceptive mandate, notes Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center.
Only one network—CBS—mentioned the suits in an evening news broadcast, and the story was given a mere 19 seconds of coverage. Bozell observes that the networks “all but spiked the largest legal action in history to defend our constitutionally protected religious freedom.”

Sheeple, the Patriot Act, Big Brother, big business, monopolies, isolationism, and censored news. When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out. ~Martin Niemölle

I noticed the same attitude in the Los Angeles Times, which mentioned that numerous suits have been filed, but made no headline mention of who filed them, or why. From the LAT, this is no surprise. Sophia
