Ireland's Cardinal Brady trims public schedule; replacement may come soon
CWN - May 15, 2012
Cardinal Sean Brady, the Primate of All Ireland, has adamantly insisted that he will not bow to calls for his resignation. But Michael Kelly, writing in Catholic World Report, notes that the cardinal has cut down on his public appearances. The International Eucharistic Congress, which will be held in Dublin next month, could be Cardinal Brady's last major public event. (It could also furnish the occasion for a Vatican announcement about his successor, or--perhaps more likely--the appointment of a coadjutor archbishop who would soon succeed him.)
