Biden signals support for same-sex marriage

May 07, 2012

US Vice President Joseph Biden surprised reporters when he said on May 6 that he would be “absolutely comfortable” with legal recognition of same-sex marriages.

Biden—who is Catholic—said that he saw no problem with “men marrying men, women marrying women, and heterosexual men and women marrying one another.” He said that all such couples should have the same legal rights.

The vice-president acknowledged that President Barack Obama would make the final decision on whether the administration would push for acceptance of same-sex marriage. To date Obama has resisted a commitment on the question, although he has repeatedly expressed his sympathy for homosexual activists.

Its so heartening to know that a "faithful Catholic" like Biden bases his beliefs on a television show. Why bother studying the bible, church tradition, papal encylicals, the catechism..yes TV is so much deeper than 2,000 years of teaching and practice. Lord Jesus have mercy on us, we are truly lost. I pray this might spark a sharp rebuke from our shepherds and specifically from his bishop...its bad enough he is a pro abortion Catholic but now he is also a pro gay marraige Catholic.

What a shame this is, but the Catholic's in this administration are Catholic in Name only. This suprises no one.

Obama's resistance to making a commitment on the question of gay marriage will disappear on the morning of November 7 if he is re-elected on November 6. The lack of honesty by this administration in admitting what everybody already knows is appalling.

This is the trial balloon. If it generates no pot shots, it signals that in the second Obama regency, especially if the Dems get Congress back whole and entire, we'll see the repeal of DOMA and penalties for anyone who speaks against anything the homosexual lobby wants. God help us through this trial.

"Signals" his support? Seems to me he lays it out plainly!
