Italian prime minister visits Pope to deliver birthday greeting
CWN - April 20, 2012
Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti paid a courtesy visit on Pope Benedict XVI on April 19, to deliver his best wishes as the Holy Father celebrated his 85th birthday and the anniversary of his election as Supreme Pontiff.
Later in the day, the apostolic nuncio in Italy, Archbishop Adriano Berndardini, held a reception for the anniversary of the papal election. Prime Minister Monti attended that event as well, as did several members of his cabinet.
