Friday-evening concert at Vatican celebrates Pope's birthday

The Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig presented a concert at the Vatican on April 20 to honor Pope Benedict XVI for his 85th birthday.
The program for the concert, which was held in the Paul VI auditorium, featured the 2nd Symphony of Felix Mendelssohn, who was himself once the director of the Gewandhaus Orchestra. The program at the Vatican was conducted by Riccardo Chailly.
