San Francisco parish hosts drag show
CWN - April 19, 2012
A San Francisco parish with a long record of gay activism sponsored a drag show on April 14, the California Catholic Daily reports.
Most Holy Redeemer Church played host to the 3rd Annual Miss Castro Country Clun Pageant, which featured transvestites and attracted homosexual activists. The parish has a history of hosting events for homosexual groups. In its most recent clash with Church authorities, Archbishop George Niederauer asked the parish to cancel scheduled appearances by gay-rights activists as speakers, including a retired Episcopalian prelate, in an Advent Vespers series last December.
