Recalling the heroism of the Titanic's Catholic chaplain

As commemorative stories multiplied on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, LifeSite News calls attention to the heroic role of the ship’s Catholic chaplain.
Father Thomas Byles went down with the Titanic after he refused two opportunities to embark on a lifeboat. The priest continued to hear confessions of the ship’s passengers, and was last seen leading a group in the Rosary.
