New Vatican web site hosts doctrinal statements

March 16, 2012

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) has set up a new web site, to provide access to important Vatican doctrinal statements.

The new web site provides a thorough list of the doctrinal statements that have been released, with the explicit approval of the Roman Pontiff, since the close of Vatican II. The documents are available in 8 different languages: Latin, English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Polish; some documents are also available in other languages. They are arranged both chronologically and by subject matter.

“Attentive reception of these texts is important for all members of the faithful and in particular for those who are engaged in theological and pastoral work,” the Vatican noted in an announcement of the new site.
