Chinese cardinal reflects on changes in Beijing's approach

Cardinal John Tong Hon of Hong Kong recalls his childhood in mainland China in an interview with Vatican Insider.
The archbishop--the 7th Chinese to be named a cardinal--notes that the Beijing regime has moved from outright persecution to more subtle but still formidable pressures on the Church. He hopes that the movement will continue, eventually bringing real religious freedom.
