Round-the-clock Catholic chaplains at London Olympics

March 08, 2012

Msgr. John Armitage, the chair of the Catholic 2012 Committee for the London Olympics, has told Vatican Radio that the Church will offer a round-the-clock chaplaincy service for officials and athletes. In addition, the Church has requested access to the Olympic village so that two or three Masses may be offered daily in different languages.

Msgr. Armitage also serves on the board of More Than Gold, an ecumenical initiative that encourages congregations to offer service and hospitality during the games.
