Honduran cardinal denounces violence, drug culture
CWN - February 07, 2012
At a Mass attended by President Porfirio Lobo and other civil leaders, Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga of Tegucigalpa lamented the violence afflicting Honduras, which has a murder rate nine times the international average.
The prelate urges Hondurans to teach children that there is “a commandment of God's law which says: Thou shalt not kill.” He attributed the violence to “the impact of narco-business subculture, unstoppable migration and religious confusion, a result of the invasion of the sects.”
