January 30, 2012
Vatican officials met on January 28 with representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), to continue negotiations toward a diplomatic accord.
The meeting, held at the offices of the Palestinian presidency in Ramallah, were led by Msgr. Ettore Balestrero, the Vatican’s undersecretary for Relations with States, Ziad Al-Bandak, the Palestinian President's advisor for Christian relations.
After discussing a draft agreement, the two sides agreed to submit the document to technical analysts, hoping to prepare a final draft for review “in the near future.”
