Boko Haram orders Christians to leave northern Nigeria

The Islamic extremist group Boko Haram has ordered all Christians to leave northern Nigeria, setting a 3-day deadline.
The January 2 statement from Boko Haram threatened further acts of violence against Christians who remain in the region. A spokesman for the group also warned that Boko Haram was prepared to challenge government troops in the north, after the government declared a state of emergency because of numerous attacks on civilians there.
