Vatican issues stamp for beatification Cardinal Newman
CWN - December 05, 2011
The Vatican has issued a new series of stamps commemorating the apostolic trips of Pope Benedict XVI in 2010, including one stamp that features the image of Blessed John Henry Newman.
The stamp—which also shows Westminster Abbey and a Union Jack—commemorates the Pope’s trip to Great Britain in September, during which he presided at the beatification of the great English convert and theologian.
The new stamps will be sold only in sets, to stamp collectors and visitors to the Vatican.
