Controversial Australian priest loses bid to postpone retirement again

Catholic World News - November 07, 2011

Father Bob Maguire, who agreed in 2009 to step down in February 2012 at the age of 77, said that it was “a bit of a shock” to hear from Archbishop Denis Hart of Melbourne that he would be held to that commitment. Parishioners had mounted a public campaign to keep Father Maguire in active ministry.
