Legionaries begin payments to Maciel abuse victims
Catholic World News - October 28, 2011
The Legionaries of Christ have begun making financial payments to victims of sexual abuse by the order’s founder, the late Father Marcial Maciel.
The payments of $20,000 or more to several victims were authorized by a committee established to investigate the sex-abuse charges against Father Maciel, which had been denied for years.
