India: Catholic schools vandalized
CWN - October 24, 2011
Two Catholic schools have been vandalized in Mangalore, a port city in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka. The vandals threw stones, bottles, and bricks at St Theresa’s School and broke stained glass windows at Padua College.
Mangalore has a relatively high number of Catholics: while only 1.6% of India’s people are Catholic, 9% of those who reside within the boundaries of the Diocese of Mangalore are Catholic.
