Caritas appeals for Central America, Pakistan following floods
CWN - October 24, 2011
Caritas Internationalis, the confederation of Catholic relief and development agencies, has issued appeals on behalf of victims of flooding in Central America and Pakistan.
130,000 have been affected by flooding in Guatemala, while more than five million have been affected in Pakistan.
“The desperate situation in Pakistan needs to be addressed by the international community quickly; otherwise, we will face an even greater humanitarian crisis,” said Caritas Internationalis Secretary General Michel Roy.
