US bishops may add Blessed John Paul II feast day to liturgical calendar

At their November 16-18 meeting, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will decide whether to add the memorials of Blessed Marianne Cope (January 23) and Blessed John Paul II (October 22) to the US liturgical calendar. The bishops will also vote on a new translation of the Rite of Blessing of Oils and Consecrating Chrism.
