80th anniversary of Vatican Radio

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican’s secretary of state, offered a special Mass on September 29 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Vatican Radio. In a book written for the occasion, Father Federico Lombardi, the radio’s director, lauded Vatican Radio for its “commitment to evangelization, inculturation of the message for the various peoples of the world, and the technical know-how to make that message reach unto the ends of the earth.”
