Cardinal Zen sees Chinese bid to 'brainwash' students
Catholic World News - September 26, 2011
Cardinal Joseph Zen has complained that new plans to introduce “national education classes” in Chinese schools amount to a program of “brainwashing” students.
“Does national education mean unconditional support for the Communist Party?" the retired Bishop of Hong Kong asked. He urged Catholic educators to preserve their independence in order to maintain the distinction between true education and propaganda.
