Scottish cardinal vows full resistance against same-sex marriage
Catholic World News - September 08, 2011
Any move to recognize same-sex marriage in Scotland will be “strenuously opposed” by the Catholic Church, Cardinal Keith O’Brien of Edinburgh told political leaders.
In his homily at a Mass for lawmakers, Cardinal O’Brien said that the campaign to gain legal acceptance for same-sex marriage is really an attempt to “rewrite human nature.” Such an effort would be a “direct attack” on marriage and the family, and deserve wholehearted opposition, he said.
