Twin Towers priest recalls 9/11
CWN - September 05, 2011
Father Kevin Madigan, pastor of a parish located a block away from the Twin Towers, discussed the 9/11 terrorist attacks in an interview with the National Catholic Register.
“I was going from one corner to another, looking for the wounded and the dying in order to be of some assistance,” he recalled. “Little did I know that the dead and many of the wounded were being brought to St. Peter’s [his parish] to await transport to either the morgue or hospital. In fact, the marble floor of the church sanctuary served as a temporary morgue for more than 30 bodies.”
