Federal child-porn charges against Kansas City priest
CWN - August 10, 2011
A federal grand jury has indicted Father Shawn Ratigan, a priest of the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph, on 13 counts of child pornography. The priest, who was educated at Mundelein Seminary and ordained in 2004, allegedly victimized five girls.
“The diocese expresses its profound concern for anyone who may have been harmed by Shawn Ratigan,” said diocesan spokeswoman Rebecca Summers. “At the same time, the diocese recognizes the special responsibility of our justice system in matters of this nature.”
