Catholic University president argued for 'conscience clause' in health-care coverage
Catholic World News - August 02, 2011
John Garvey, the president of Catholic University of America, makes a strong case for "conscience clause" protections of those who find it morally repugnant to subsidize contraception, sterilization, and abortion in the American health-care system.
Unfortunately, the fear expressed in Garvey's essay was confirmed on the very day it appeared, when the Obama administration announced that all health-care plans would be required to provide coverage for contraception. (See today's top CWN headline story.)
