Vatican spokesman recalls Pope’s vacation suggestions
CWN - July 25, 2011
In his weekly editorial, Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Holy See Press Office, noted that Pope Benedict offered “several brief but important suggestions about how to spend our summer vacation” in his Angelus addresses of July 3, 10, and 17.
The Pope, said Father Lombardi, advised travelers to “use our vacation time in a way that helps renew our relationships with others and with God,” “contemplate the greatness, and admire the beauty, of creation around us,” and discover “the monuments of the past,” such as cathedrals and abbeys.
“The Pope even suggested we include a copy of the Sacred Scriptures in our suitcase,” Father Lombardi added.
