Christian group organizing flights for Ethiopian Jews to Israel
CWN - July 04, 2011
A Christian group has announced plans to help 8,700 Ethiopian Jews travel to Israel and take up permanent residence there.
The International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem said that it is organizing flights from Ethiopia to Israel at the request of Jewish groups. The Alliyah flights—taken from the Hebrew term for emigration to Israel—will help Ethiopia’s Jews escape poverty and political unrest in the African country, the sponsors note.
