Miracle claimed through intercession of Pope Pius XII
Catholic World News - July 04, 2011
In an exclusive report from Italy, AP tells the story of a woman who insists that she was cured from cancer through the intercession of Pps Pius XII.
The sudden recovery of Maria Esposito could provide the miracle needed for the beatification of the wartime Pope, if the cure is verified as miraculous. But some physicians question her story, saying that a course of chemotherapy could explain the disappearance of her cancer.
The AP story provides a reasonably balanced perspective on the cause of Pope Pius XII, which has been dogged by controversy, with critics saying that he did not speak out forcefully enough to condemn the Nazi Holocaust.
