Focus on spiritual life, Pope tells Vatican volunteers
CWN - June 27, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI met on June 25 with the members of the Association of Sts. Peter and Paul, a group of volunteers who assist tourists and help with liturgical and charitable functions at the Vatican.
The Pope told the group—which traces its origins to the Palatine Guard—that their generous work can “require profound motivation, which must be constantly renewed by an intense spiritual life.” Since the members of the group help pilgrims to pray, he said, they must nourish their own active lives of prayer.
