Bishop of Tripoli decries NATO bombing attacks, cites civilian casualties

“In order to destroy Qaddafi, NATO is killing dozens of innocent people,” charges Bishop Giovanni Martinelli, the apostolic vicar of Tripoli, Libya.
“Bombs are becoming our Calvary,” says Bishop Martinelli, who has released repeated appeals for an end to the NATO military campaign. Denouncing the use of bombing raids, he calls urgently for negotiations to bring a peaceful end to the nation’s conflict.
