Egypt: Copts report many girls abducted, pressured to convert to Islam and marry
CWN - May 23, 2011
Coptic Orthodox Christians in Egypt report that young girls are being abducted from their families, to be converted to Islam and married to young Muslim men.
Once they convert to Islam—often under compulsion—the young women are prevented from returning to the Christian faith. Egyptian law makes no provision for Muslims who wish to leave the faith, even if they are seeking to return to their original faith.
