Australian government rejects Shari'a law

The Australian government has rejected a request by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils to permit Muslims to fall under the Shari'a legal system.

“There is no place for Shari'a law in Australian society, and the government strongly rejects any proposal for its introduction,” said Attorney General Robert McClelland. “As our citizenship pledge makes clear, coming to Australia means obeying Australian laws and upholding Australian values.”

    Typical of Western infidels to reject the law of the Religion of Peace. Too squeamish to have 'em cut off the hands of thieves, probably.
