Chinese bishop dead at 45

A Chinese bishop who was ordained in 2007 has died at the age of 45 of pancreatitis. Bishop Francis Lu Shouwang of Yichang, a city of four million in east-central China, was ordained with the approval of Pope Benedict and Chinese government officials. With the prelate’s death leaves, five sees in Hubei province are now vacant.
