Polish president thanks Pope Benedict for beatification

President Bronislaw Komorowski of Poland met on May 2 with Pope Benedict XVI in a private audience at the Vatican.
The Polish leader “"wished to express the gratitude of the Polish nation for the beatification of Servant of God John Paul II,” according to a Vatican release. Komorowski, who was in Rome for the celebrations, agreed with the Pontiff that the long reign of the Polish Pope “marked a great turning point, not only in Poland but in the entire world.”
