Nigerian court blocks installation of archbishop, on tribal grounds
Catholic World News - April 26, 2011
A court in Nigeria has issued a restraining order to halt the installation of Archbishop-elect Augustine Akubeze as head of the Benin City archdiocese.
The court in Edo state accepted a motion from three members of the archdiocese, who had argued that the new archbishop of Benin City should be a member of their tribal group. Archbishop Akubeze is from another tribe.
