At UN, US blasts Catholic resistance to population programs

American diplomats working at the UN are working energetically to impose family-planning programs on poor countries, and denouncing the forces--led by the Catholic Church--that resist such programs.
The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute reports on the conflict:
On the one side are rich countries demanding poor countries reduce their fertility rates, and on the other, the poor countries saying they need higher fertility rates for not just development, but survival.
