Georgian youth frustrated by local Orthodox hostility June 12, 2008
Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto, apostolic administrator for Latin-rite Catholics in the Caucasus, has delivered a letter from Georgia’s Catholic Youth Organization to Pope Benedict XVI.
In their letter-- which the bishop delivered during his ad limina visit to Rome-- Georgia's Catholic youth express their support for the Pope and their frustration with local Catholic-Orthodox relations. They wrote, “We would like to tell you about our difficulties with the Orthodox Church, which we want to consider a sister Church, but which in reality does everything to destroy us.”
