Danish papers reprint Mohammed cartoons after attempt on artist's life February 13, 2008
Danish newspapers have republished the notorious cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammed, risking a recurrence of the riots sparked by angry Muslims after the caricatures originally appeared in September 2005.
The cartoons were republished in 17 different Danish newspapers after police foiled the attempted assassination of the artist who drew them, Kurt Westergaard of the Jyllands Posten newspaper. Police arrested 3 men-- 2 Tunisians and a Dane of Moroccan origin-- in Aarhus, charging them with a plot to kill Westergaard and his wife.
