Website Review: e-Catholic 2000

A review based on: http://www.ecatholic2000.com

Description

e-Catholic 2000 is an online community of believers on the internet, who profess to be loyal to the Roman Catholic Church. Their mission is to build a sense of "community" on the internet by providing a warm friendly atmosphere for socializing, faith sharing and religious discussion as well as prayer. The site also provides resources on Catholicism as well as links to Catholic websites on the internet.

We don't recommend this site because of the mixture of good and bad resources. There is very little here that cannot be found on sites which are more discriminating in the material that they offer.

We recommend A Critical Review of Some Best-Selling Textbooks in Catholic Social Teaching by Stephen Sharkey for a better understanding of why some of the pedagogical resources being used today may be contributing to confusion and a lack of fidelity to the Magisterium.
