Catholic Recipe: Lemon Sauce

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • grated rind of one lemon
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

This delicious lemon sauce is sweet, and can be used for recipes such as plum pudding, fig pudding, Indian pudding, etc.

DIRECTIONS

Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in the top of a double boiler. Stir over the hot water until thickened. Remove from heat, add lemon rind and lemon juice, and serve. This can also be reheated gently over the double boiler.
