Catholic Recipe: Best-Ever Meat Loaf

    INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pounds lean beef, ground
  • 2 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish
  • 1 Tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • few drops Tabasco
  • 1 cup ketchup

It seems every family has their special meat loaf recipe. This recipe has a tomato dominance in flavor.

DIRECTIONS

Combine first 9 ingredients and 1/2 cup of the ketchup. Pack lightly into greased loaf pan about 9 x 5 x 3 inches. Spread remaining 1/2 cup ketchup over top. Bake in moderate oven 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
