Catholic Recipe: Superb Barbecue Sauce

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1-1/2 cups molasses
  • 1 cup yellow prepared mustard
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 cups vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Tabasco
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano

This zesty sauce should be made the night before to allow the flavors to seep.

DIRECTIONS

Pour 1-1/2 cups molasses into large mixing bowl; gradually blend in 1 cup yellow prepared mustard. Stir in 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce, 1-1/2 cups vinegar, 2 teaspoons Tabasco, 1/4 teaspoon each marjoram and oregano. Store in tightly covered jar in refrigerator. Makes about 1 quart.
