Catholic Recipe: Lawn Party Punch

    INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups hot strong tea
  • 1 small bunch fresh mint
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups light corn syrup
  • few grains salt
  • 3 cups unsweetened grape juice
  • 4 quarts club soda
  • orange and lime slices
  • sprigs of fresh mint

Here's a light, fruity punch for the hot summer days.

DIRECTIONS

Combine tea, mint, lime juice, orange juice, corn syrup, and salt. Let stand until cool; strain and chill. Add grape juice. Pour over ice in punch bowl. Just before serving, add club soda. Garnish with orange and lime slices stuck with sprigs of fresh mint. Makes 50 punch cup servings.
