Catholic Recipe: Ten-Minute Marshmallow Nut Fudge

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1-2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup undiluted evaporated milk
  • 1-1/2 packages (1-1/2 cups) semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/4 pound marshmallows, quartered, or 1-1/3 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Although cooking this fudge takes only 10 minutes time, you will need to allow for cooling time.

DIRECTIONS

Combine sugar, butter or margarine, salt, and evaporated milk in saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat; after bubbles form around edge boil gently exactly 5 minutes; stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously until marshmallows melt. Turn into greased 7- or 8-inch square pan. Cool; cut into 1-inch squares. Makes about 36 squares.
