Catholic Recipe: Cheese Tart

    INGREDIENTS

  • pie crust for 9-inch pastry shell
  • 1/2 pound Swiss cheese, grated
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup milk or light cream
  • salt and pepper

A delicious cheese tart, which can be served as an appetizer or main course.

DIRECTIONS

Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Sprinkle grated cheese with flour; spread evenly in pie plate. Combine eggs, milk or cream, salt, and pepper. Pour over cheese. Bake 15 minutes in hot oven (400°), reduce heat to moderate (325°); bake 30 minutes longer or until inserted knife comes out clean. Serve hot. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
